African American Families of Calvert County Exhibit on Display at JPPM (extended through November 24)

Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum is celebrating our African American Community with an exhibit in the Visitor Center.  The exhibit will be on display through November 24.

On display are some historic portraits donated by Loretta Parran whose ancestors have lived in Calvert County since the seventeenth century.  The exhibit features some of Calvert’s African American citizens as they followed the path to freedom and celebrates their lives with some shared oral histories.

The exhibit is open on during Visitor Center hours of 10 am to 5 pm, Wednesday through Sunday.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.
